Total Bill with Tip: $16 for 1 adult & a baby
My baby and I regulars at the Village Inn near 180th and Center. Little Penny is almost 1 year old, and she loves cheese and eggs.
That’s why I typically get the VIB deal, with the cheese omelet, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. Naturally, I keep the bacon and coffee all for myself! The bill for my VIB deal with coffee is under $12, and with tip I spend $16 for my good breakfast for mama and baby.
You might have to try some different things on the menu to figure out what you like. We are not so fond of the country potatoes, for example, since I think the hash browns stay warmer longer. And even though the sandwiches are fine I just prefer the breakfast choices!
The staff are very friendly, and always so happy to see the baby. I suppose it helps that Penny loves people-watching, and rarely makes a mess in the walkways. I mean, she’s a baby, so sometimes stuff lands on the floor. I’ve been to every VI location in Omaha, and they always tell me to get off the floor, like “That’s what our vacuum is for!” and “Baby’s gotta baby!” and other assurances that my baby is always welcome at VI.
The big trouble with Village Inn is that it can be very busy. Weekend and holiday breakfasts may involve a wait to be seated. Service can suffer when they are short staffed. I wouldn’t recommend Sunday morning breakfast, or weekend holiday breakfast.
We usually go on Wednesday morning, just late enough to snag some of that FREE pie 🙂
